If you enjoy a paddle and a splash-about on a warm summer’s day then you’ll love visiting Tettenhall. Its large well-maintained pool is a magnet to lots of families enjoying a free day out at the city’s beauty-spot.
Set against lovely parkland and a wildflower meadow the pool is used from May to September and has toilets and a free car park nearby. There’s a football pitch during the football season and for sports fans Wolverhampton Cricket Club adjoins the green.
Tettenhall village with its variety of shops and popular cafes is just a stroll away from the water – just head for the landmark clock tower and you’re in among the shops – as well as more of the tree-lined green, which the shop fronts look out onto.
If you have a dog the extensive parkland with its well-established trees is a great place to get out and exercise your dog – whatever the weather.
The green is great for flying a kite on a blustery day, collecting conkers in the autumn and enjoying a yellow burst of sunshine from the hundreds of daffodils which spring up every March – and it is just as special at Christmas when white lights fill the trees making Tettenhall look very festive and welcoming for a winter’s day walk.
